The glass door survey

About a month ago, I made a poll about how people react when they are about to open a glass door. I will let you read the result yourself before I made any comment.

Initially, I thought most of the people will avoid using the metal handle because I saw many palms/fingers prints on the glass. However, before you accept this or any statistical result, a few points must be noted.

1) What is the sample size? Could it reach the required confidence level for the population you wish to study?

There is only 13 responses in this survey. The majority of them are my friends and in the same age group as I am. The selection method of the respondents is always important to make sure that the survey is free of bias.

2) Are all the available answers presented to the public?

In fact, the option "I am not touching the metal handle, it's filthy. I am pushing the glass." did not receive any response.

3) Are the questions or answers really represents the thought of the respondents?

Do the respondents know what kind of glass door the enquirer is referring to? The question never state that the glass door is pushable, although it is hinted in the answers. The answer maybe is too descriptive and the respondents are just choosing the closest answer.

Having said that, this is still a fun poll and metal handle still serve its duty, as a metal handle that is.
